![]() ![]() ![]() And although I have been able to raise Eggplant in the ground, in my new Vego Bed this year the two Eggplants grew large with a greater abundance of Japanese-style Eggplant then I've ever been able to harvest from ground plants. I have NEVER been able to raise Cauliflower in the ground, so I think the warmed soil in the Vego Bed made the difference. I honestly don't think my success was the sardines (though I'll do that again). I followed the fill-directions for this waist-high bed, and decided to put a half-can of sardines into the bottom of each planting hole. ![]() Two of us assembled the Vego with excellent instructions and holes that lined up. I used the Vego 6-in-one extra tall single raised bed this past season for growing Cauliflower, Broccoli, and Radish, then Parsley, Eggplant and Peppers and had my most successful harvest EVER with each. I've been a Michigan organic gardener, Master Gardener, canner and excellent cook for many years. ![]()
